Registration Information
 

Discounted cost for League affiliated credit unions is $125 for each new student, or $135 for non-affiliated members. Includes Course material. Scholarships are available. Make Checks payable to FSCJ CU Advisory Committee.

Dropping or withdrawing from a class must be done officially with FSCJ.

All classes are held virtually online through FSCJ. Classes meet from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. once a week for 10 weeks.

CWK 0030 Financial Counseling

Students will gain skills in personal financial counseling. Such skills will include interviewing, listening techniques, and problem solving. Instruction will also be provided in personal and family budgeting, debt management, dealing with creditors, developing a savings plan, and referral sources.

CWK 0031 Human Behavior*

A study of human behavior, psychology and human relations; understanding interests and desires of individuals; matters of personal and group adjustments; understanding ourselves; understanding credit union members.

CWK 0032 Business Math*

Students will learn about various credit union and personal math scenarios including the following:

CWK 0033 Credit Union Accounting

Course traces the accounting of funds received in the credit union from simple receipts and disbursements, to journal and cash record, to general ledger and the making of financial reports. Students will develop an understanding of the figures compiled.

This course will provide a basic introduction to the fundamentals of sound mortgage lending for credit unions, to include philosophy and the processing procedures required to administer a mortgage lending program in a credit union environment

In this customized course, students will gain knowledge of the role marketing plays within an organization. Topics addressed will include what is “Marketing,” product mix, the marketing environment today and tomorrow, and market segmentation. Also included will be the market and member research, marketing mix, developing sales and service qualiy, marketing plan, advertising tools, marketing budget, and elements of a campaign.
